Recipe: Chocolate flapjacks

Audrey Rouby

A flapjack is a cake of British origin, resembling an energy bar. It usually consists of oatmeal, butter, brown sugar and golden syrup. It is an ideal recipe for refueling in the morning.

  • 6 people
  • Préparation: 35 min
  • Cooking: 10 min

  • 100 g of oats flakes
  • 100 g of chocolate muesli cereal
  • 75g of butter
  • 4 tbsp of milk
  • 75 g of sugar
  • 40 g of peanuts
  • 50 g of chocolate chips
  • 100g of milk chocolate

Step 1

In a saucepan make a caramel with the sugar and 3 teaspoons of water. When the caramel is brown, add the butter, wait for it to melt, then add the oats and muesli, mix well, then add the milk, the peanuts and the chocolate chips.

Step 2

On a baking sheet going to the oven arrange a sheet of parchment paper then pour the preparation on it, spread there well with the back of the spoon. Wait a bit for them to cool and then let them harden for 1 hour in the fridge.

Step 3

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C and bake for 10 to 12 min.

Step 4

Prepare the milk chocolate frosting by melting it in a double boiler.

Step 5

Spread it over the cereal bars so as to make only a thin layer of chocolate.

Step 6

Put them in the fridge for another hour to be able to cut them.
