Recipe - Donuts stuffed with jam

There is nothing better than homemade donuts! Here is a recipe for donuts filled with jam that children can help you make. All you have to do is stuff them with a little jam. And after a little frying, you can enjoy yourself!

  • 500g of flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp of powdered sugar
  • Jam
  • Icing sugar
  • 200ml of milk
  • 25g of baker's yeast
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Sunflower oil

Step 1

Place the yeast in a bowl. Add 100 g of flour and 4 tbsp. tablespoons of lukewarm milk. Mix well and let sit in a warm place for 2 hours.

Step 2

Pour the remaining 400 g of flour into a large bowl. Add the sugar, salt and mix well. Dig a well in the center. Pour in the eggs and stir with a whisk. Add the sourdough and milk while mixing with a whisk. You should obtain a very homogeneous paste. Let rise again for a few hours, or even overnight.

Step 3

Knead the dough again and spread it out on the work surface or on a floured board. Cut out circles 6 cm in diameter using a cookie cutter.

Step 4

Arrange 1 tsp. jam in the middle of each circle and cover with a second round of dough to form a donut. Pinch the edges well, to glue them together. Let stand 45 minutes at room temperature.

Step 5

Heat some frying oil in a saucepan and dip the donuts in it.

Step 6

When they are golden brown, drain them on paper towels then sprinkle them with icing sugar. Enjoy them warm or cold!
